3rd Trimester Waiting Game

Yes, oh yes!! The great third trimester is truly a waiting game. I know for me it wasn’t like, ‘Somebody please get this baby out of me!’ I actually just really wanted to meet my precious little one and I was totally excited about labor and delivery. Who looks forward to that? Me LOL!

Anyway, my tips for the third trimester aren’t that many, of course you should and can incorporate the tips from 1st Trimester Blues.. and 2nd Trimester Kicks throughout your pregnancy as long as your healthcare provider says it’s okay.. WAIT!!!!!

**DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. THE THOUGHTS AND STATEMENTS INCLUDED IN THIS BLOG IS JUST WHAT WORKED FOR ME AND A FEW TIPS ON WHAT I DID/DO WITH MY PREGNANCY. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER BEFORE ACTING ON WHAT YOU HAVE READ HERE. ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.

Alright, now that’s said (written, whatever) let’s get to my tips in no particular order.

  • Use an oil on your perineum area – I used flax seed oil. It’s great to use this early on in your pregnancy as well, I just forgot to include it in the other tips. (Oops! Blame it on pregnancy brain.) If you don’t use it in the beginning of your pregnancy I highly recommend that you start as soon as possible. Flax seed oil is great in helping you not to tear and/or rip during the delivery process of your little one. It’s not guaranteed that you won’t tear but it’s better to be safe than sorry and hurting. Ouch! It’s really simple to use, I would apply it everyday after I got out the shower. Boom, bam, you’re finished. Nothing extreme.
  • Start organizing and cleaning baby’s things – Nesting is a real thing and chances are you don’t need me to tell you to start organizing and cleaning baby’s things but just in case that pregnancy brain got you, you should definitely go ahead and do that. I washed all of baby’s clothes, blankets, burp cloths, etc. I also organized baby’s clothes by size so I wouldn’t have to go searching for something that fits.
  • Get things ready for your birth – Whether you are going to a hospital or having a home birth, go ahead and start getting things prepared (birth plan, hospital bags, birthing kits, etc).
  • Prepare your home – Make your home a welcoming environment for you little bundle of joy and a little easier on you after delivery. I stocked up on some paper plates and plastic utensils because I knew I wasn’t gonna want to do any dishes. I also made sure that we had paper towels and toilet tissue, trash bags, and some groceries. (Thanks to my awesome midwife. You’ll hear, read whatever, more about her in my labor and delivery blog, coming soon!)
  • Make some Padsicles – What in the world is a padsicle? I had never heard about these awesome things until about a few months ago via Pinterest. They are super easy to make and totally worth it. I’ll include the link here. If you have any questions about them please feel free to ask in the comments below. I recently heard about someone using Depends instead of pads and that sounds like an even better idea and a lot easier to deal with.
  • Rest – Pretty sure your body will tell you this, I’m just here to advise you to listen and rest it up real nice whenever you can 🙂 You will need all your strength during delivery and after baby is born.
  • Be patient – Baby can’t stay in there forever LOL! An old lady once said that a baby is never too early or too late, they always come right when they need to. So if that due date come and go, as long as you and baby are healthy, that “due date” is just an estimate. With that being said enjoy this video that I think is just the cutest 🙂

I believe that is everything. Happy that I could share my pregnancy experience with y’all and that you all joined in on what’s going on in my life. I really do hope these tips work for y’all as they did for me. I will be writing about how my labor and delivery went very soon, so stay tuned. As always, have a freakin’ fantastic day!487d81c5-3b92-4347-a23e-cdb322e3641c
